The San Bruno Association of Toronto, Canada aspires to disseminate the love and faith of our Saint Bruno to our Canadian society along with our culture and traditions.
Mission:
Through religious, social and cultural activities, we encourage the new generation of Serresi-Canadesi to embrace the same enthusiasm, faith and bond to the culture and traditions of their fathers.
History:
Over 40 years ago a small number of “Serresi” families who emigrated from the mountain town, Serra San Bruno in southern Italy, landed in Canada and settled in the College Street neighborhood. Feeling the torment of being away from their beloved hometown, they decided that there was a need to create an environment that would help to override the hardships of immigration. Saint Bruno, the Saint who founded Serra San Bruno, became the center of their attention in hopes that he would help overcome the adversary conditions of their new social status.
